Prayers of the Faithful for October 19 & 20, 2019

Presider:

Answering the call to be persistent in prayer, we now lift up our many needs and the needs of the world.

Lector:

For the Church: that we may pray unceasingly and be open to God’s invitations to greater discipleship, we pray:

For all who have no voice or standing in society: that we may be aware of all who are forgotten by society and raise their needs and aspirations before others, we pray:

For parents, catechists, and all who teach our children to pray, we pray:

For members of religious communities, prayer groups and individuals whose lives are committed to praying for others, we pray:

For the grace of perseverance: that we may consistently call upon God in our times of need and remain open to be changed by God’s love, we pray:

For those who are ill and have asked for our prayers including, Dennis Ripley, Dorothy Ascheman, Bethany DeMaster, Dan Morris, Jan Heil, Susan Reiter, and for all who are suffering in body, mind, and spirit, we pray:

For those who have died, especially, Sue McSherry, the mother in law of Nicholas Hutton. May they share fully in the new life of Christ and live with God forever, we pray:

Presider:

Merciful God, we are grateful that you have always heard the prayers of your people. Show us how to trust in you when we grow impatient, and grant us the gift of persistence. We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
