Prayers of the Faithful for October 7 & 8, 2017

Presider:

We pray now for our many needs and the needs of the whole world.

Lector:

For the Church: that we may be a fruitful garden, producing a harvest rich in justice, compassion, mercy and forgiveness, we pray:

For a deeper relationship with God: that we may not be satisfied with simply using religious words and gestures but always seek to authentically serve God in our words and deeds, we pray:

For a greater respect for human life, particularly for the unborn: that God will open all hearts to the beauty of the gift of life, we pray:

For all who tend the fields and bring food to our tables: that God will strengthen them and protect them in their labors, we pray:

For those who were injured or killed in the Las Vegas shooting, may they and their families find strength and healing in their faith and in the support of compassionate caregivers as they begin to recover from their physical and emotional wounds, we pray:

For those who are ill and have asked for our prayers including: Lemmy Decario, Mary Koenig, Lito Sy, Phyllis Rascher, and Jean Volkov. May they find comfort in the healing touch of God and by the loving care of family and friends, we pray:

For all who have died, that God will fill them with life and give consolation and peace to those who grieve them, we pray:

Presider:

Loving and nurturing God, we ask for the courage and grace to accept our responsibilities as fruitful people in your vineyard each day of our lives. We ask this in the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Amen.
