Prayers of the Faithful – January 10 & 11, 2026
Presider:
As we recall the baptism of Jesus and our own identity as God’s beloved sons and daughters, we bring our prayers before the Lord with trust and hope.
Lector:
- For the Church, that we may boldly live out our baptismal call to bring justice, mercy, and peace to the world, let us pray to the Lord.
- For leaders of nations, that the Spirit of God may guide them toward humility, wisdom, and a sincere concern for the common good, let us pray to the Lord.
- For all who are preparing for baptism, confirmation, or reception into the Church, that they may experience the loving affirmation of God’s call in their lives, let us pray to the Lord.
For peaceful resolution to painful and violent events in our community, that God may protect the vulnerable, heal division, and guide us away from actions that incite fear and lead us toward justice, peace, and respect for every human life, let us pray to the Lord. - For unity and compassion, that we may come together as a nation and pass meaningful immigration reform that does justice to all parties, let us pray to the Lord.
- For members of our parish community who are isolated, living in fear, and unable to obtain the necessities they need for themselves and their families, let us pray to the Lord.
- For those who are ill and have asked for our prayers, especially: Roger Schwenn Tony Willerscheidt, Marlene Steinkamp, and Barbara Teff. May they find comfort in the healing touch of God and by the loving care of family and friends, let us pray to the Lord.
- For those who have died, especially Will Joseph Hebert, father of Gail Danielski. That they may enter the peace of God’s eternal kingdom, let us pray to the Lord.
Presider:
Gracious God, you call each of us your beloved and seal us with your Spirit.
Hear the prayers we offer today and help us to live faithfully our baptismal calling, through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
