Prayers of the Faithful – January 21 & 22, 2023
Presider:
Let us make known our needs so that the kingdom of heaven might be made visible in our world:
Reader:
- For all members of the church, may we shine with the light of Christ dispelling darkness, we pray:
- For courage when we are called to act on behalf of others, especially those most in need, we pray:
- For those forced into labor, trafficked into sexual slavery, and denied freedom, we ask God to release them from their chains, grant them protection, safety, empowerment, and a new beginning. We pray:
- For the lowly, the downcast, the hungry, the poor; may they be led into the light of God’s kingdom, we pray:
- For those who are ill and have asked for our prayers including, Elaine Kjeldahl. May they find comfort in God’s love and from the care of their family and friends, we pray:
- Today we pray for our Beloved Dead: Dennis Krueger, James Green, Jim Dwyer, and James Griffin as well as those who have died more recently, especially Jim Gaffke, father of Josh Gaffke, Sharon Jirik, and Roger Henkenmeyer; may they be forever held in the loving arms of God, we pray:

God of light, you send Jesus to bring salvation to all people. Hear our prayers that one day we might live in your eternal Light. We pray through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
