Prayers of the Faithful – January 31 & February 1, 2026

Presider:

Trusting in the God who lifts up the lowly and blesses those who seek justice, let us bring our prayers before the Lord.

Reader:

  • For the Church, that we may live the Beatitudes with humility and courage, becoming a sign of Christ’s mercy, justice, and peace in a divided world, We pray to the Lord.
  • For those who exercise authority and leadership, that they may act with wisdom, restraint, and compassion, always upholding the dignity of every human life, We pray to the Lord.
  • For our local community, especially those experiencing fear, grief, or uncertainty during times of tension and unrest, that God may be their refuge and source of hope, We pray to the Lord.
  • For all who hunger and thirst for righteousness, that they may be strengthened in their pursuit of justice, reconciliation, and peace, even when the path is difficult, We pray to the Lord.
  • For the poor in spirit, the meek, and all who feel powerless, that they may know they are seen, valued, and blessed in God’s kingdom, We pray to the Lord.
  • For those who are ill and have asked for our prayers, especially: Pamela Windfield. May they find comfort in the healing touch of God and by the loving care of family and friends, let us pray to the Lord.
  • For those who have died, especially Daryl Dahl, Marjorie Estle and Karen Fitzpatrick; may they be forever held in the loving arms of God. We pray to the Lord.

Presider:

God of justice and mercy, you draw near to the humble and hear the cries of your people. Receive these prayers we offer in faith, and shape us into instruments of your peace, through Christ our Lord. Amen.
