Prayers of the Faithful March 19 & 20, 2022
Presider:
We who seek a deeper relationship with Jesus pray now for all our needs and the needs of the world.
Reader:
- For the Church: that the Holy Spirit will nurture and renew us so that we may bear the abundant fruits of virtue and vibrant discipleship, we pray:
- For an end to war and violence: that God will send an angel to challenge those who are using violence, open new opportunities for dialogue between conflicting parties, and help them find ways that will benefit all people with better lives; we pray:
- For all who are experiencing affliction, particularly in Ukraine: that God will hear their cries, relieve their sufferings, and give them strength to remain faithful, we pray:
- For those preparing for the Easter sacraments and the life changes they bring, we pray:
- For all God’s people on this Lenten pilgrimage, especially our community of Risen Savior: may we be renewed in wisdom. charity, faith, and hope; and so, like the fig tree, bear great fruit; we pray:
- We pray for those who are ill and have asked for our prayers, including Diane Johnson, Corrine Garness, and Elle Muchow, granddaughter of Darlene and David Ivy …we pray:
- For those who have died, especially Martin Noll, father of Renee Nord, and Dick Thamert, brother of Bob Thamert; that all who have died find joy in the resurrection…we pray:
Presider:
Just and merciful God, you know and love us as the imperfect people we are. Grant us awareness, humility, and gratitude as we ponder our sinfulness and your constant call to repentance. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen
