Prayers of the Faithful May 11 & 12, 2024
Presider:
As we reflect on our responsibility to assume the work of the disciples, we pray
for ourselves, for our neighbors and for the whole world.
Reader:
• For the Church, as we celebrate the Ascension of Jesus into heaven, may we be inspired to continue his mission of love and reconciliation in the world, we pray to the Lord:
• For our parish community, as we gather to celebrate the Ascension, may we be strengthened in our faith and unity, and may our worship be a source of inspiration and renewal for all who participate, we pray to the Lord:
• For world leaders and policymakers, that they may be guided by the spirit of wisdom and compassion as they work towards peace, justice, and the common good for all humanity, we pray to the Lord:
• For all mothers, grandmothers, and maternal figures in our lives, that they may be blessed with strength, wisdom, and grace as they nurture and care for their families, we pray to the Lord.:
• For the sick and suffering in our community, including: Cheryl Walek. For all who suffer, we pray to the Lord:
• For who have died, especially Keith Froelich. May they find comfort in God’s love, we pray to the Lord:
Presider:
Gracious God, you sent your Son among us to show us the way to you. Grant us
all that we need to continue to work in his name, so that all creatures may be one
in you. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
