Prayers of the Faithful – May 31 & June 1, 2025

Presider:

As we reflect on Christ’s ascension and await the Spirit who binds us in love, we bring our prayers before the God who remains ever near.

Lector:

  • For the Church: that we may embody Christ’s presence through gentleness, humility, and love, revealing the Spirit at work in our midst, we pray to the Lord:
  • For all who feel the weight of absence—through grief, estrangement, or change—that they may sense Christ’s quiet nearness in the Spirit’s gentle stirrings, we pray to the Lord:
  • For students, graduates, and all in transition: that their next steps may be guided by peace and rooted in the deep love of Christ, we pray to the Lord:
  • For communities fractured by war, division, or fear: that Christ’s ascension may inspire a longing for unity and reconciliation, we pray to the Lord:
  • For our earth, entrusted to our care: that the Holy Spirit may guide us to act boldly for its healing and renewal, we pray to the Lord:
  • That those who are ill and have asked for our prayers, including Douglas Solberg, Jan Solberg, and  Marv Burns, may feel Christ’s healing touch, we pray to the Lord:
  • For those who have died, especially Carolyn Larson, that they may now share fully in the risen and ascended life of Christ, we pray to the Lord:

Presider:

God of Presence and Promise, even in absence you draw near. Hear our prayers, fill our hearts with your Spirit, and shape us into one body in love. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
