Prayers of the Faithful November 19 & 20, 2022
Presider:
We pray with Christ, the suffering King, for the suffering people of the world.
Lector:
- For the Church: that we may cooperate in the ministry of Jesus in offering forgiveness and accepting suffering in being disciples each day, we pray:
- For a transformation of our hearts: that through the Cross of Christ, our understandings of power, success, and glory may be changed and that we may place ourselves more fully in the service of God, we pray:
- For the liberation of Haiti and the conversion of the people of Haiti, and especially our Sister Parish St. Rose of Lima, that in this time of turmoil and uncertainty in their country, they may be led with the creative energy of the Holy Spirit towards new life, we pray:
- For the grace of forgiveness: that we may be moved to forgive all who have injured us and show concern and compassion for them, we pray:
- For all who are traveling this week: that their visits with family and friends will renew them and that they may arrive safely to their destinations, we pray:
- For those who are ill and have asked for our prayers including Nancy Mosely, Jim Dwyer, Betty Rezac and Arnold Ideker. May they find comfort in God’s love and from the care of their family and friends, we pray:
- For those who have died. May all who have died be forever held in the loving arms of God, we pray:
Presider:
God of the powerless: You gave us your son to usher in a new reign of peace and justice. Jesus has shown us that this Kingdom is inhabited by those whose only power is love. We pray for the courage to live in and strengthen this Kingdom, meant for all. We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
