Prayers of the Faithful October 30 & 31, 2021

Presider: Let us pray to God, the Father of compassion and author of love.

  • For the Church: that we may sincerely seek to love both God and others so that the reign of God may draw near, we pray:
  • For love of neighbor: that the Spirit will guide and inspire us as we strive to love our neighbors as ourselves, particularly those with whom we find it hard to relate, we pray:
  • For Trejean Curry, the driver involved in Monday’s accident that resulted in Fr. Denny’s death, and for all who have been impacted by this tragedy; that we might be open to God’s unconditional mercy as we seek healing, we pray:
  • For all who are grieving: that they may know God’s life-giving presence with them today, we pray:
  • For safety: that God will protect all young people who participate in Halloween activities and help them remember the holy ones whom they are celebrating, we pray:
  • For those who are ill and have asked for our prayers, including Tom Diger and David Osterkamp,. May all who suffer be healed by God’s loving touch and by the prayers of this community, we pray:
  • Today we pray for those who have died, especially our beloved pastor, Fr. Denny Dempsey, as well as Mary Kojak, and Dora Rivers, Sister in Law of Lloyd Rivers, we pray:

Loving God, give us openness to your grace so that we may truly hear and listen to your word. Make of us your faithful servants and fill our hearts with your strength. We ask this in the name of Jesus, your Son. Amen
