Prayers of the Faithful September 4 & 5, 2021

Presider:

With hearts and spirits opened to God’s healing presence, let us pray:

Lector:

  • For Church of the Risen Savior as we approach our 50th Anniversary celebration, and especially for our Charter Members: that God continue to bless us all as we move forward as a faith community, we pray:
  • For all recovering from Hurricane Ida: that God will protect them from further harm, renew their energy, and speed the assistance which they need, we pray:
  • For all who have lost their lives in the war in Afghanistan, especially the civilians and U.S. service people who were killed in the most recent terrorist attack: that God will give peace and closure to the grieving, we pray:
  • For the safe exit of those trying to leave Afghanistan: that God will protect those in danger, lead them to places of safety, and help all refugees to find a warm welcome in their new communities, we pray:
  • For the people of Haiti for whom we’ll take up a second collection today: that God will protect them from further harm, give them strength, and open the hearts of many to assist them, we pray:
  • For all students returning to school, that God bless them with safety and the nourishment of human interaction as they begin the next school year, we pray:
  • For all who labor whether at home or in the workplace: that God will guide them as they provide healing, support, safety, or resources and renew them in mind, body, and spirit for the good of all who depend upon them, we pray:
  • For those who are ill and have asked for our prayers, including Lawrence Dobias, grandfather of Rebecca Dobias. May all who suffer be healed by God’s loving touch and by the prayers of this community, we pray:

Presider:

Lord our God, you heal and draw us to yourself by your tender care: hear our prayers and open our eyes to receive the Good News proclaimed by your Divine Son as we offer these prayers to you through our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
