Prayers of the Faithful – September 7 & 8, 2024

Presider:

With hearts open to God’s inclusive love and compassion, let us bring our prayers and needs before the Lord, trusting in His mercy and care for all His children.:

Lector:

  • For the Church, that she may continue to be a sign of God’s welcoming love and compassion, reaching out to those who are marginalized and in need, we pray to the Lord:
  • For all world leaders: that they recognize the dignity of all people regardless of status, wealth, or social position and seek to meet the basic needs of every person, we pray to the Lord:
  • For a spirit of welcome and hospitality in our assembly: that all who join us for worship, community, or service may experience the love of Christ and a warm welcome, we pray:
  • For all who have hearing or speech difficulties: that we may recognize them as our sisters and brothers and support them in using their unique gifts fully for God’s glory, we pray to the Lord:
  • For those affected by the school shooting in Winder, GA, that God will welcome the souls of those who were killed, grant healing to the injured, and bring peace and comfort to the community; and that we may all be inspired to seek real-world solutions to prevent gun violence and create a safer world, we pray to the Lord..
  • For the sick and suffering in our community, including: James Seurer. For all who suffer, we pray to the Lord:
  • For all who have died, especially Lucia Noguez, and Jacob Lamott, son of Dennis Lamott, that they may rest in the eternal peace of Christ, we pray to the Lord

Presider:

Loving and merciful God, You call us to be instruments of Your compassion and inclusion in the world. Hear the prayers we offer today and inspire us to act with love and justice towards all people. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
