Prayers of the Faithful – January 29 & 30, 2022

January 28, 2022 By Kevin Rotty

Prayers of the Faithful                                            January 29 & 30, 2022

Presider:

In faith, hope and love we pray for the needs of the whole world.

Reader:

  • For the Church: that we may grow in faith, hope, and love, and help others to discover the joy of these virtues, we pray:
  • For all who are called to be prophets: that God will give them a clear insight into the truth, the strength to endure rejection and suffering, and convincing words to touch hearts about injustice and lack of love, we pray:
  • For the clergy here at Risen Savior, especially Fr. Mario Castagnola, as he joins Fr. Tim Rudolphi and Fr. Matthew Malek in serving this community as we await the appointment of a new pastor.  That God will continue to bless Fr. Mario as he feels the warm welcoming spirit of this vibrant community, we pray:
  • For Sophia McArthur, who will receive the sacrament of Confirmation at the 9a Mass and for RCIA candidates Duy Tran and Donald Posternick who will receive the Rite of Acceptance and Welcome at the Saturday 5p Mass; that God will strengthen them as they continue their journey of faith, we pray:
  • For those impacted by the growing tension in the Ukraine, that God will guide all involved to a peaceful and just outcome, we pray:
  • For those who are ill and have asked for our prayers. May they be healed by God’s loving touch, including, Larry Simmons, Michael Swanton and Mary Dobmeier we pray:
  • For those who have died, especially Kathy Graca, Helaine Powell, Richard Daly, Marge Donofrio, Gerri Migletz, and Loretta Lyden, mother-in-law of Marilyn Lyden. may they find comfort in the arms of God, we pray:

Presider:

Saving God, you sent your Son to speak to us words both gracious and challenging. Hear our prayers that we might heed what he speaks to us and live faithfully the life to which he calls us. We ask this through Christ our Lord, Amen.
